Often people find it hard to obtain travel insurance if they have pre-existing medical conditions, often the premiums are high and more often than not travellers decide to take the risk and not bother getting cover at all.
Travel insurance for cancer patients is not the easiest to find and often the premiums do not reflect the risk of the individual traveller, online facilities often generalise illnesses and disabilities and rarely have empathic staff who are able to deal with enquiries with the right sensitivity.
I myself have experienced problems trying to find travel insurance for breast cancer patients, a relative who was suffering from an aggressive form of breast cancer was having difficulty not only finding cover but also a premium that was resonable. Now I work in insurance so if I had difficulty helping them what chance has the average patient?
As above travel insurance for asthma sufferers can be a bit difficult to find. I have asthma and as above it's another topic I understand from a personal view point.
